I really loved staying here. No.9 Hotel is unusual in that it is a hotel building with a number of dorm rooms. Each of these rooms is a standard hotel room with an en-suite; however, instead of one queen-sized bed, these rooms have 2x2 bunk beds, with their own privacy curtains, lights, and charging stations. The en-suite was superb, and the room itself was lovely and big, with a huge window and even an armchair (without arms). I cannot remember ever experiencing such luxury in a dorm situation. The location of this hotel is also outstanding. It is just five minutes' walk away from Newmarket, with its massive Westfield shopping centre, heaps of different cafes and restaurants, the various delights of Chinatown, and Newmarket train station. There are many bus stops in the vicinity which can get you to/from Auckland Airport as well as the CBD and many nearby suburbs. Best of all, this place is really quiet at night, so a good sleep is more than a possibility. I loved the location because I walked to Auckland Museum without too much bother, and caught the bus to the airport opposite the front door. Superb!

Great location for those who want to be just out of the fast Paced city without being too far out. Uber was super cheap to be able to get into town. Is nice to be able to have parking onsite as well compared to most places in auckland with on street parking or very over priced council parking. The bathroom was fantastic for a hostel type room. House keeping was excellent. We had 4 of us and had a few drinks so being able to get rid of food and drink rubbish each day was excellent. The beds as far as hostel style rooms go have to be some of the most comfortable I've slept in this type of room. Also having lights, USB ports and power sites in each bed space is great as well. Saves any fights over single points like most rooms have.

The hotel was very good all round, staff friendly, clean and comfy rooms. Stayed here pre covid was good then and since reopening from being a isolation hotel it is just as good. Great location for my stay. Will return again when needing to stay in the area. Loved that fridges & microwaves are now available but not sure why toasters as there is no cuttery or plates!!

Trisha

We had to attend a medical appointment early in the morning and didn't want to contend with Auckland traffic so we booked an overnight stay. The location suited our purposes well. The room was excellent, beds very comfortable and the room was quiet which gave us a great night's sleep.

Barbara

No 9 Hotel exceeded my expectations, as I had some concerns based on a couple of negative reviews. However, those reviews proved misleading. The rooms were clean and well presented, and the location suited me for the purpose of my visit.
